GITAM University Invites Applications for Admission to the Academic Year

GITAM (Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management) University, Hyderabad invites applications for Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture programs for the academic year 2018-19. An M.Tech programme in Cyber Forensics and Information Security and School of Architecture will also be launched from the next academic year.

The university will provide admission to candidates through GITAM GAT 2018. It is one of the most competitive examinations at the university level in Southern India and the reason behind the university’s cream. Admissions will be conducted in eight B.Tech programmes i.e. Aerospace, Civil, CSE, EEE, ECE, EIE, IT and Mechanical Engineering.

Apart from this, admissions will be provided in B.Pharm, B.Arch, and six M.Tech programmes which include CAD and Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Cyber Forensics and Information Security, Data Sciences, Power Systems and Automation and VLSI Design.

GITAM GAT is a computer based online test conducted for providing admission to undergraduate, post-graduate & Pharmacy programs across all the 3 campuses – Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.

The university offers programs in Schools of Technology, International Business, Management, Law, Pharmacy, Science, Medicine, Nursing and Gandhian Studies as well as the Centre for Distance Learning.

Given below are the various programs offered by the university. And, you may find three variants of GAT exams which are needed to be qualified for the listed programs.

GITAM has added 2 more programs to its list, an i.e. M.Tech program in Cyber Forensics and Information Security with School of Architecture, i.e. B.Arch & M.Arch. The School of Architecture is a new discipline at GITAM. It offers 5-year Bachelor of Architecture and 2-year Master of Architecture programs. For Bachelor’s degree, the candidate must have qualified either NATA 2018 or JEE Main Paper II.

NATA or National Aptitude Test in Architecture is conducted by the Council of Architecture. It measures the applicants' drawing and observational skills, critical thinking ability aesthetic sensitivity and sense of proportion, related to Architecture.

The single window NATA is conducted for the admission to 5 years program in Architecture in all the relevant universities across the country in addition to the scores obtained in 10 + 2 or equivalent NATA scores are required in admission to Government, Govt Aided & unaided schools /colleges of Architecture.

Council of Architecture has decided to conduct the exam in offline mode i.e. Pen and Paper test for 2018-19. This action of CoA looks forward to a success; in bringing quality architectural education and profession.

To qualify NATA, the Council of Architecture has laid guidelines to determine the number of examinees qualifying the exam. A candidate must attain 40% in NATA i.e. at the least, 80/200 so as to be considered for the admission in the first year of the B.Arch program.

Though not official it might occur that GITAM may look forward conducting its own exams for Architecture program like NATA. GITAM GAT has maintained the university’s grace by not compromising on the quality of students. GITAM now is a successful organization counted amongst the best universities across the country.
